3headsetpg Lupin Actor Omar Sy To Headline Netflix's Extraction Series

French actor Omar Sy, will be seen in the spin-off series to Netflix's Extraction movies, reported Variety. It will have eight episodes.

The first Extraction film, which was released on Netflix in 2020, starred Chris Hemsworth and Randeep Hooda. The former also starred in the sequel in 2023. The films were based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks.

The official logline for the Extraction series states, “Set in the high-octane world of ‘Extraction,’ this action thriller follows a mercenary (Sy) as he navigates a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, the series delves into the emotional struggles of conflicted and flawed characters, each facing trauma, betrayal, and life-or-death choices.”

Glen Mazzara is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner of the series. While Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes and Chris Castaldi will serve as the executive producers for AGBO, with Sam Hargrave,betef cassino Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin.

For the unversed, Joe Russo wrote the screenplay for both films and produced along with Anthony, Gitter, and Schwerin and Hargrave helmed them.

Mazzara called himself a ''very lucky man and said that Omar is a ''huge talent''. He added, ''Joe, Anthony, and Angela have welcomed me into the AGBO family. The team at Netflix is truly the best I’ve ever worked with. Very lucky indeed.”

Sy is a terrific actor who was raved for his stellar act in Lupin series. He also starred in Jurassic World, Intouchables, The Killer, Chocolat, X-Men: Days of Future Past,  Inferno, Transformers: The Last Knight and The Takedown among others.
